Although the population of Andorra is small, there is a small LGBTQ+ community happily and openly living here. Thanks to the the influence from neighbouring Spain, being one of the first countries in the world to legalise same-sex marriage, Andorra is forward thinking on the subject of diversity, despite its traditional culture in other steps of life.

Safety
It is of course nice to see that Andorra’s population is getting more and more diverse by the day, and more people from the LGBTQ+ community have decided to call Andorra home. Despite Andorra having transitioned from a feudal system to the 21st century in the space of about 40 years, Andorrans and residents alike are generally respectful and do not meddle with people’s personal lives. This gives for a place where the LGBTQ+ community is welcome, and the scene is one that is public and extremely safe being so. The status quo in Andorra is that with mutual respect, people can live along side-by-side in harmony. As an example, the current Head of State, who has now been in power since 2019 is openly gay. This is something that Andorra could be proud of or could even be celebrated, but the truth is that Andorra has never been much of a revolutionist country and the population is pretty much impartial (as with many things) towards this particular fact.

Social Scene
With a population of just over 80,000 people, the social scene of Andorra isn’t the most thriving of places in general, whether you are part of the LGBTQ+ community or not. Andorra tends to attract people that want a bit of peace and quiet in their life, and are more orientated to nature and outdoor living compared with a culturally packed city life. Therefore, getting groups together for talks, activities or events of any kind can be quite a challenge in Andorra. This is no different for the LGBTQ+ community.
With Barcelona and Toulouse being close, the LGBTQ+ population of Andorra usually reverts to these two cities if they are looking for events or activities to participate in. For instance, Barcelona has an association called Panteres Grogues, which enables people from the LGBTQ+ community to get together via sports, dance and culture. This association has various branches, one of them organising skiing and snowboarding outings. Some of these outings are carried out in Andorra and which you can be part of too, if you wish.
We do in fact have one gay bar in Andorra, Entre Nous, along with a few other establishments run by the LGBTQ+ community. Due to the size of the population, you will find everyone and anyone in these bars, and due to Andorra's impartially on the subject, the LGBTQ+ community is always welcome into any establishment in Andorra in reality.
